What is this all about?
I am collecting Finnish names through all times. I hope this site will be helpful for parents who are struggling to decided the name for their offspring. If you're especially proud of your name and want to share it with others, please do contact me and help me with this
difficult task. I hope your e-mail will clarify following things:

- First names, also secondary and tertiary names if they exist.
- Year of birth
- Infomation about your parents nationality (if they were not both Finnish)
- Sex (to very extraordinary names)
- Also if you know a story about your name it would be nice to hear. Not mandatory though.

I will not need any last names, please do not send me those. If your name is very rare, think carefully if you want it to be published. If you want to publish your friends/relatives name, you need to have his/hers permission to do so. Name has to be approved by Finnish population register. If your name happens to be listed already, let me know anyway. I will just add additional info for the name in that case.

If you think you have come up with a great name, let me know about it. I will also collect and list those name suggestions.
I will treat names less than 50 registered rare.
